• Ensure that all visitors experience the site in a meaningful way by offering a variety of self-guided and guided tours, exhibits, publications, etc.
• Provide curriculum-supporting school programs to students
• Create a richer and more complete experience of the site by increasing the number of restored rooms and objects for public view
• Improve visitor access, comfort and safety

Our Mission

To provoke thought and provide historical perspective on contemporary social and environmental issues by ensuring that diverse audiences enjoy, appreciate and draw inspiration from Stonehurst and the legacy of its creators.

A Collaboration

The Friends of Stonehurst (also known as the Robert Treat Paine Historical Trust) was formed in 1991 to assist the property owner, the City of Waltham, in the care of Stonehurst and its surrounding 109-acre site. In collaboration with the City, the Friends have built an impressive track record of securing and matching highly competitive grants for capital work and special projects.
